Flying is a fantastic experience and to be able to fly a great gift. To protect our sport and our freedom to fly, we must ensure that we all act together to promote a safe flying environment. Not one of us out there knows it all or has finished learning. I am trying to share knowledge to promote safety in the air. We all must aspire to a log book with the same number of landings as take-offs!
Before we start I must emphasise a few points:
All pilots have a legal responsibility to operate their aircraft within the limitations and guidance provided in the relevant Flight Manual and the ANO. Furthermore,
a pilot is responsible if he fails to act within his training or abilities. As such, the techniques and information contained in the following pages are 'generic' and for
illustration purposes only. Pilots should only attempt new techniques or aerobatics following instruction from a suitably qualified instructor (FI).
Most flying clubs in the UK can provide cost effective training in new techniques - Don't be afraid of FIs use them!.
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) operate an approved aerobatics course through registered instructors and training organisations
- I recommend this course to you as an introduction to the joys of aerobatics.
